Ms Katrin Neuheuser worked as a scientific staff member in the Research Group on Work and Engineering Psychology (FAI) at the Institute of Psychology at the Technical University of Darmstadt from 2013 to 2017.
As part of the project “Competence Development through Interdisciplinary Networking from the Very Beginning” (KIVA, German acronym for: „Kompetenzentwicklung durch interdisziplinäre Vernetzung von Anfang an“ ), she was responsible for the evaluation of sub-project VI on the development of interdisciplinarity.
As part of the project “Interdisciplinary Development of Urban Health Games” (UHG), she worked together with the Department of Architecture and the Department of Multimedia Communication on the development of serious games in the health sector.
As part of the project „Optimierte Vermessung, Anpassung und Fertigung von Beinprothesen“ (engl.: “Optimised Measurement, Fitting and Manufacturing of Leg Prostheses”), she worked with the Institute of Mechatronic Systems (IMS), the Institute of Sport Science (IFS) and the Fraunhofer Institute for Manufacturing Engineering and Automation (IPA) to investigate how both the knowledge of orthopaedic technology mechanics and the pain perception and wearing comfort of prosthesis wearers can be recorded and harnessed to improve prosthesis fitting for transfemoral amputees.
In addition to her work at the Institute of Psychology, she also worked as an external consultant for the Employer's Liability Insurance Association for Raw Materials and the Chemical Industry (BG RCI).
